I just found out that my 4410 HST has been recalled because of a possible transmission problem. Can someone enlighten me as to the problem. I am just curious. I plan to call the shop on Monday and see how long the work will take. John Deere will cover all expenses on this right?!? (I have warranty until July '05)

After a little more research, I found out that this recall happened December 23, 2003. Since I bought my used 4410 through a dealer well after this date, it should be fixed right? How can I tell if the problem has actually been taken care of? Any input would be appreciated. ....

Originally I paid extra for R4's, but in our clay soil they got lousy traction wet or dry. So the dealer traded them out for the biggest factory sized R1's with eight-way rims and I had them set to the widest position. The R1's get far, far better traction than the R4's ever did, and for me the tracks they leave are not much of an issue. They work fine with a loader and the extra width feels much more stable. The receiver hitch is a Bad River I-Match model, used mostly for hauling the chipper around. I've found it to be a very nice piece of equipment. ....
